It could just as easily be a bus body mounted on an HC-600 chassis. Sometimes bus builders would plant bodies on heavier trucks. |

I agree, I can't find anything on a bus chassis for that series. |

GMC de 1949, carrossé en Israël. Ce bus "musée" fait partie de la belle collection de la Cie EGGED (cf leur site) |

Scene takes place in Israel, so that must be right |

1949-59 HC-Series models were 5x0 to 9x0 models. As almost all share the same wheelbases, how can the 4½-ton payload of a 600 chassis be seen from that picture? Wouldn't it be more accurate to just say ⇒ 1949 GMC HC-Series? -- Last edit: 2015-02-03 00:19:39 |

Some other Israeli HC-Series based buses are visible here and here. the pictures are apparently extracted from one of the 7 albums showing the historical buses of the Egged company (among the pictures: what is said to be an armored Fargo used in 1948, at the very beginning of Israel... No much light inside ) -- Last edit: 2015-02-03 20:30:52 |
