Moskvitch 412 from 1967? I think they were made since 1968 (and this grill of 412 or 408/I was since the beginning of 70´s). |

ok, working from Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moskvitch_412 gave 1967. So this is a facelift 1969- yes? |

Is any Moskvitch-expert around? ![]() Today got a car-magazine -from West Germany- from 1970, which I've bought at eBay. There is a small advertise included, headline "Die Autosensation 1970 MOSKWITSCH" ![]() The version with the double round front lamps is named "Elite" (as in other Western export-countries like Belgium, Austria and the UK), the version with rectangular lamps is named "412". So can we take this as "guideline" for "Mossi" (East German slang ![]() |

Export names definitely. 408 had also names "Moskvitch Elite 1300" (France), "Moskvitch Elite" (Finland) or "Moskvitch Carat" (Norway). Moskvitch played with "Scaldia" brand on few West European markets (e.g. Belgium) for tongues comfort. ![]() In Poland, in 1967 you could buy Moskvitch ("Moskiwcz") 408 on standard trim only. Lonely option was four headlights. With official price 123,000 PLZ or 124,000 PLZ (if 4 headlights). This is Moskvitch 408 as Scaldia: http://storm.oldcarmanualproject.com/scaldia1400.htm Those rectangular headlights were same in Wartburg 353. -- Last edit: 2010-01-28 12:31:12 |

This one, too: http://www.icmesa.com/tinhunter/Houthalen/Moskvitch.jpg ![]() Found here: http://www.icmesa.com/tinhunter/Houthalen/THAHouthalen.htm But crushed in the year 2000. As the 3000 other cars there, too. P.S. @130 Rapid: in West Germany the name Scaldia wasn't used, as I know. But the official import last only around 2 years, as I've heard. -- Last edit: 2010-01-29 21:16:19 |
