Front license plate says 300SE. Any reason to assume that is inaccurate? |

This have all the bells and whistles to be a [W 112] 300 SE. That include the wheel arch chrome strips and the chromed side strip. None of those features were standard on the 280 SE, but I know that some ordered them with chromed wheel arches. Also the root veneer, especially visible in the 7th thumb, was a standard feature in the 300 SE, but rarely seen (if at all, as it cost a fortune) in the cheaper models. I'm convinced that this is a 300 SE. |

I have nothing to contribute regarding trim or details. I just think it's a lovely car! And I'm not even a MB lover. But did anyone notice something hanging under the car when they were driving home from Sarah's birth mother? Maybe loose/low exhaust.? (By pointing that out I'm thinking more about the technicality of the movie than the car.) |

The orange plooks on the front panel. The 1967 Cortina Mk2 for US had a similar addition. (Plook is a Scottish word for a popping pimple). |

Any chance this was Mr. Douglas' personal car? |
