Front license plate says 300SE. Any reason to assume that is inaccurate?

This have all the bells and whistles to be a [W 112] 300 SE.

That include the wheel arch chrome strips and the chromed side strip. None of those features were standard on the 280 SE, but I know that some ordered them with chromed wheel arches.

Also the root veneer, especially visible in the 7th thumb, was a standard feature in the 300 SE, but rarely seen (if at all, as it cost a fortune) in the cheaper models.

I'm convinced that this is a 300 SE.

I have nothing to contribute regarding trim or details. I just think it's a lovely car! And I'm not even a MB lover.

But did anyone notice something hanging under the car when they were driving home from Sarah's birth mother? Maybe loose/low exhaust.? (By pointing that out I'm thinking more about the technicality of the movie than the car.)

The orange plooks on the front panel. The 1967 Cortina Mk2 for US had a similar addition. (Plook is a Scottish word for a popping pimple).

Any chance this was Mr. Douglas' personal car?
