I've checked what cars wore number 24 in Mille Miglia races in the 1930s.

1933 : Fiat 508S Balilla Sport
1934 : Aston Martin Le Mans
1935 : Fiat 508 Balilla
1936 : Fiat 508 Balilla
1937 : no 24 found
1938 : Fiat 500 testa Siata spider Zagato
1940 : Fiat 500

IMHO the 1938 car seems to be the most fitting to the picture.

Edit : it is the one.
