Link to "en.m.wikipedia.org" No two examples need be the same, things were different in the 1920s. Cycle type wings might be fitted for racing, and replaced by the more flowing type for touring, exhaust systems might change according to the use to which the car is put. I would stick with Alfa 6C, but which engine is up for argument. -- Last edit: 2016-08-18 20:29:54 |

The race number is either 73 or 75, so I went to wsrp.cz for pre-war Mille Miglia results. And here are the cars that wore those numbers. 1927 73 - Itala tipo 61 berlina aerodinamica 75 - OM Tipo 665 Sport 1928 73 & 75 - Lancia Lambda 1929 73 - Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Spider Zagato (finished third) 75 - OM Tipo 665 SMM 1930 73 - Lancia Lambda 75 - Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 S 1931 73 & 75 - Fiat 525S berlina 1932 73 - Lancia Artena 75 - Lancia Lambda 1933 73 - Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Spider Zagato 1934 (nothing) 1935 73 - Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 75 - Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Spider Zagato From all this, I'd say the probability of our mystery car to be an Alfa Romeo is strong. And it does look like one. |
