Very late version of the classic Latvija, one year before the last rolled off the line. Only 21 were made.

In the early 90s, in the light of imminent restoration of independence, RAF began considering a replacement for the aging 2203 and began developing a van that would potentially put Latvia on the map as a carmaking nation. Enter the M1 "Roksana"

Using the body and technicalities of the-then current Ford Transit, the Latvians devised a family van that was to potentially compete with the new VW T4. Alas, the deep financial crisis after the August coup put developing a car in the second republic a side priority, and RAF put on the redlight for production.

The Roksana was lost for over twenty-five years until it was rediscovered in a warehouse in Ventspils, still with its contemporary faulty English advertising on the side:

After a few years had passed and the country had had some time to redevelop, RAF made another trying at establishing Latvia as a carmaking nation in 1994 with the M2 'Stils'. And ho boy, did they go all out with this one! A 12 seater capable of nearly 105 mph would have blown even the Previa out of the water!

The Stils was conceived using Citroen and Peugeot technology and styled by Russia's famed NAMI, the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute. Like the 2203 it was set to replace, the M2 was also designed as an ambulance version. But this project too was too ambitious for a country the size of West Virginia with a 90 million USD budget, and the company was forced to continue the tried and true "Rafik" for the remaining three years, symbolically finishing production with a one-off hearse version. On November 26, 1997, the last 2203 rolled off the assembly line.
