I realised that it could not be a Whippet. There are details that look a lot like my '29 Plymouth but this car has cowl lights and side mounts and a round radiator badge. It is obviously a Chrysler product. It has a straight line across the lower edge of the top radiator tank. Maybe it is a 1931 DeSoto? |

I do not think that this is a DeSoto , neither 1931 nor 1930. In 1931 DeSotos had a much narrower chrome radiator shell with shutters fully extending upwards to the top of that shell.Furthermore the DeSoto nameplate was removed from that shell and replaced by a coat of arms on the headlight bracket.Only the eights kept the former split bumper , the sixes got one piece bumper.When looking at the 1930 DeSotos ,the lower end of the upper radiator shell adjacent to the shutters seems rounder ,here it looks straight.I am thinking of a Chrysler Series Six Royal Sedan of 1930 with the optional wire wheels and dual sidemounts but it is just too fuzzy to be certain. |

I agree it can not be a DeSoto. I also agree it could be a 1930 Chrysler. At least the bumper looks to be 1929 or 1930. As Pilou says it is too fuzzy to be certain. |
