I think that there's a strong chance it's a Leyland Tiger Cub/Weymann belonging to King Alfred. That's King Alfred Buses of Winchester. Link to "flickrhivemind.net" The decoration down the side is different, but that is IMO, just a detail. Look at the arrangement of the driver's window, and look at the King Alfred logo on the side. There is, however, a problem with the side windows at the rear of the bus, but could have been a later variant in the coachwork. -- Last edit: 2016-07-29 20:40:44 |

I can narrow it down to one of two Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/2T/Weymann used by King Alfred Motor Services of Winchester: NHO101 or NHO102 new in 1955. This is NHO102 in Winchester Broadway - https://www.flickr.com/photos/rw3-497alh/5535451488 . There was an earlier pair, but both had been withdrawn by the time this was made. A later pair had dual purpose bodies, and the better known trio from 1959 looked different again, as exemplified by preserved WCG104 - Link to "www.alamy.com" |
