actually, it's a 1954 Kenworth W-900, picture of the same truck in the following links with a removed sleeper

The W-900 was launched in 1961...
Dual headlamps are high on the fenders, which indicates more likely a 1958-63 900-Series (921 / 923 / 925 / ???).

The 900 series was launched in 1961 AS the W900, which was a tilt hood model with the designations as follows:
W921 - single axle model with spring, air ride or torsion bar suspension
W922 - tandem axle with single drive axle and a non powered tag axle
W923 - 44000# tandem drive axles with spring or air ride suspension
W924 - 55000# tandem drive axles with spring or air ride suspension
W925 - tandem drive axles with torsion bar suspension

The truck pictured is a '58 -'60 500 series with a butterfly hood.

@ Airhorn: please, can you give a source for your info about the W-900 models? I also read in some forums that the differences were about aluminum or steel frames, but it was as unsourced as your listing.

About the 900-Series, which is not the W-900 and which has a butterfly hood:

(from Kenworth corporate website)

With dual headlights, it remains a 900-Series, but made from 1958 until 1963 (see link in my previous comment), as long as trucksplanet.com doesn't mess too much with launch dates...

This had been a topic of discussion for a while and the info was obtained from Kenworth brochures from the 60's, and also from a plant manager who worked at Kenworth-Chillicothe Ohio from 1975 through 2005. This model designation started in the mid-late 50's and went into the late 70's when the Kenworth torsion bar suspension became obsolete. I stand corrected on the inception date for the 900 series. this one looks to be a heavy duty model, are there any specs on it?

Once again (also here, here and here), you give a link with a restricted access. What's the point?

Anyway, is a thread of a scale model forum really a trustworthy source? My experience makes me think that the info of most forums should be viewed cautiously, unless links to or pictures of real and readable documents are provided :)

If your talking about 900-Series trucks, there's certainly other info somewhere. But for now I just know the 2 afore mentioned links (keeping in mind that trucksplanet.com is sometimes mistaking about launch dates).
