I'm not so sure this is a Mack. Without the bulldog hood ornament I'd have lots of doubts. -- Last edit: 2007-03-09 22:26:35 |

it is the only pic you can get from it, later you only see the trailer. |

I think it looks more like an Autocar |

I was thinking either Hayes or Pacific. Hayes was owned by Mack for a while, until it faded away in 1975. |

It could be a Hayes Clipper http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/loeb/psd_0e61.jpg |

That wouldn't surprise me. |

I think it is a Hayes HD , not a Clipper. Wasn't the Clipper a tilt-hood? This looks like a butterfly hood. |

The truck is a 1976 Kenworth LW924 - affectionately called the "Thunder Buggy". It is powered by a V 16 kitty cat, with 5x4 transmission, currently, the truck is owned by the same person/company that owned the truck during filming (the owner is a good friend). I just photographed the truck on the weekend - it is currently being rebuilt and spruced up a bit. -- Last edit: 2011-11-15 17:53:07 |

It seems a perfect match. |
