funny,my book for 1987 which was on sale in late 1986, already has it inside, with prices, road test and everything... did the Lynx had an extra year in US ? ( here the Lynx stopped in 1986 ) -- Last edit: 2016-05-24 07:03:20 |

I'm not sure about Canada but the Lynx was sold until 1987 in the U.S. |

I found an article on Google Books from Popular Mechanics, Feb 1987, that had a blurb that states: "Lincoln-Mercury intends to offer a Mexican-built import called the Tracer (code-named CT-18) for 1988. The Tracer will be assembled in Hermosillo, Mexico, as a replacement for the Lynx. The Tracer is currently being assembled in Taiwan and it sells in Canada as a 1987 model. The Mercury Tracer will be identical to its Taiwanese cousin" Link to "books.google.com" |

I was just surprised to find out that your Tracers were sourced from a different plant. |

me too.... and to learn that, like karoomay pointed out, that the Lynx had an extra year of life on your side of the border... should have checked my 1988 book ( i just did )... everything is in it.... only the 1987 were made in Taiwan, then we got them from Mexico for 1988 -- Last edit: 2016-05-24 20:09:53 |
