And those where only on the Turbo Diesel? And not on the sporty petrol versions? Do not get me wrong I think you're good at identifying cars. And I trust you're judgement. But I would like to know what the specific details are on what you identify them. :)
And I thought a Diesel version seems more unlikely in the US than the petrol one. Since petrol is more easy to obtain in the US, especially in those days... (US memebers, feel free to correct me if I am wrong about that)

Although it's not easy to be definitely sure from this angle, the right side of the bootlid doesn't seem to have the TURBO DIESEL script this model had. Anyway, I suppose the most common version in the US-market was the 450SEL.
