Commander 57 ◊ 2010-02-19 00:08	This is a 1947 Champion Regal Deluxe. Thumbnail tells the tail. Those short, low front fender ornaments were exclusive to '47 Champions. It should not be carrying stainless steel gravel guards, however. Only Regal Deluxe Commanders/Land Cruisers and Champion convertibles had them from the factory. (Dealers sometimes substituted them at customers' request, though.)

While reading the Studebaker Driver's Club feature article on 1947 models, they say the short fender ornaments were discontinued after the '47 model run. But I just completed review of the 1949 feature article which lists them as an accessory for that year! Regardless, those appear to be 1947 style bumper guards, the best I can tell.
