The columned building taking up most of the frame is the Postal Square Building (2 Massachusetts Avenue NE) that served as the main post office of Washington, DC, from 1914 to 1986 (it now houses a museum and some government offices). In the background is Union Station, the city's main train station. The Buick is traveling southeast on Massachusetts Avenue NW; once it crosses North Capitol Street it will be on Massachusetts Avenue NE.
