It must have been very expensive to drive a car like this in France. Taxes were based on engine size (37CV for such a Cadillac, compared to 11 CV for a Citroën DS 19...), gasolin price was extremely high, and the car itself was almost unafordable. I couldn't find the french price for the 1960 version, but the 1959 version cost FF 6,088,000. That's the price of 6(!) Citroën DS 19 in 1959... |
