Dennis Lancet I East Kent Road Car had a series of 25 off 1935/6 Lancets bodied by Dennis when new, some re-bodied post war with old bodies from Park Royal, but two Lancet IIs were in this batch, just to confuse things. I think that the first digit of the number is a 6, EKRC may have reserved batches of registration numbers that were used out of sequence, thus JG series still being used by them post WW2 unless the buses so registered were rebuilds. http://www.classicbuses.co.uk/eklan.html Scroll down to b/w photograph. Unless anyone can come up with different evidence can I suggest Dennis Lancet I/Dennis B35R, East Kent Road Car, and a date of 1936, the buses cannot have been rebodied at the time of the film. First JG plate in 1935 was 5325, in 1936 = 6851, in 1937 = 8601. So if it starts with 6, it covers 1935-36. Onscreen, I thought 9 was best fit, but 6 or 8 easily possible. |

All you have to do is compare the bus with the photograph in the link. The radiator is the Lancet I shape, and the bus has a front bumper, indicating that the bus is one of the JG 6800 to 6824 batch, any later version of the Lancet had the more rectangular radiator, and apparently from pictures I have seen no bumpers.
