It seems that the Accent [RB] taxi in Colombia is called Grand Pony Taxi: Link to "www.carroya.com" |

Yes, I notice that in Colombia taxis are always listed as separate models in the manufacturers websites, and often they use even different names |

Do you know why is that? |

Not really, but from what I've read around the web in Colombia taxis are required to have some particular features, making the vehicles slightly different from the cars on which they are based. Moreover, this article Link to "www.elcolombiano.com" dated October 2015 says that from this year on newly sold taxis are required to be three-box sedans with separate boot for safety reasons. This will change a lot the panorama of taxicabs in Colombia, because the most diffused ones so far are mostly based on superminis like Hyundai Atos, Chevrolet Matiz or Kia Picanto. -- Last edit: 2016-03-12 14:11:21 |

In my town the taxi cars are supposed to have a boot of a minimum capacity, which also provides an advantage for three-box sedans. But I believe that's valid throughout Europe as well, although we see in one episode of this series a small car as taxi in the city of Locarno, Switzerland: /vehicle_477974-Daihatsu-Sirion-M300-2007.html |
