I've noticed that buses sometimes have delays between registration issue and fleet data (so I did not change your date). Presumably chassis were registered at factory or by the destination fleet, then shipped to bodybuilder or maybe batches of numbers were issued and backfilled as individual buses were completed??

4 years and 8months later, following a learned article on Liverpool buses by Geoff O’Brien, Classic Bus #168.

Leyland Titan PD2/20 with Crossley coachwork probably completed in Liverpool Corporation Edge Lane works. The Corpy was suffering from labour shortages in the mid 1950s, the last of the Crossley bodies not taking the road until 1960/1. This seems to be one which was completed in 1957.
