If a W-900 (I don't say it is not, but for now I have always seen air cleaners on these trucks), you can't say a "circa 1979 W-900 A" just based on the single picture you link. As far as I know, and besides the unveiling in 1961, 1972 can be pointed out for the new (recessed) door handles, or 1982 for the new (square) headlamps, but 1979 isn't a specific year for the W-900. Even the A calls for reflection: how can identify this particular model, as the main visible differences between an A and a B are the round or square headlamps? @ AleX_DJ: Is there a view of the front of this truck, or at least a better one of the door? |

It can't be a W900.. the mirrors are mounted on the door, which is something KW stopped doing since the 60's. It looks to be a Kenworth, but it's definitely pre-W900.. like 523/524..? |

Depending on the engine and specs of the W900A model trucks, you can have a single air cleaner of several different makes on either side of the truck, or they could have dual for larger engines or just be spec’d that way. I have a 1971 with a Cummins SC 350HP in it and it has dual air cleaners and dual stacks, as it was ordered with those specs. |
