The taillights were always like this, except for the American markets where the orange indicator lights were changed to red ones. |

they were all the same. IIRC it was VW-unique, that for some poverty-spec models you had to extra charge for backup lights. |

Another frame could possibly reveal amber backup lights, like /vehicle.php?id=3693 France had amber backup lights until late sixties/early seventies. Some made it over the Skagerrak, I remember I found it strange when I was a kid. Even if they look red (or white) they would have amber lenses (a piece of colored plastic) underneath. |

Petrol version for three digits script. First two cyphres seem (for me) identical, so I'd say 220. |
