I'd say bigger than that, like a Bluebird, but it may be a licensed version locally assembled by Yue Loong.

Then it could be a Yue Loong 923 Link to "de.wikipedia.org"

Agree Bluebird [U11] as base, which becomes 1985-91 Yue Loong YLN 921. Versions were YLN 921 = 2.0 litre, 923 = 1.8 litre, 923 W = 1.8 litre wagon.

This brochure's tech sheets show both 1.8 and 2.0 versions called 921. And the car was still called Bluebird. I've put "Bluebird 921" as model, but "921" may be put in the "extra info" field, as part of the trim level.

World Cars 1985 only lists the YLN 921 SGL (2.0 saloon), suggesting first appeared as a single version before expanding to include 1.8 saloon and estate versions. No mention of Bluebird in name at that point - maybe added later to bring the 921 and 923 together under same model identity??

And on the left of the pic is another Yue Loong, this time a Sunny 331.

Have rearranged the name so we can capture the U11 code for cross-referencing.

Except the "YLN" part wasn't featured anymore in the brochures or on the cars themselves at that time. In these scans of a corporate brochure from the early 1990s, we can see the earlier cars were indeed called YLN-xxx, but the more recent cars had only "name + numerals", like Sunny 303, Cedric 830, Feeling 101/102, and so on... or just a name without numerals.

World Cars 1985 is definite as just YLN 921 SGL for both text and a photo caption - no Bluebird attachment; all the other YLNs are just given as YLN xxx with no attached names (311 SD, 721 SD =4dr and 721 HB =hatchback, 807 GX). Maybe the name evolved as the range increased?? Unfortunately that 1985 edition was the last one published, so impossible to pursue. However I think the U11 code is the key bit of info, more than the different possible 921/Bluebird permutations so won't argue against "Bluebird 921".
