W108... |

extra foglights, maybe SEL-wheelbase plus a quite low suspension... Somehow I smell W109, maybe even https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy2ZGn-eqqI Seriously: the license plates H-SL 824 are a permanent loan by me. Between 1978 and 1980 they were on my father's 1973 VW Passat LS (4door, marinoyellow, green interior, sunroof). The Mercedes Benz-Museum has looked for quite original plates, so we plate-freaks collected some appropriate stuff. I gave this Hannover-town pair - of course with the requirement, to put it nowhere else than on the 6.3 -- Last edit: 2016-02-02 23:53:59 |

Nice story! But you're right, the longer I look at this particular car the more it seems like a high-spec version. |

Are there any more captures of the door frames (fully chromed if W 109)? Otherwise 1968+ because of the grille and the door mirror. |

agree with ingo, 300 SEL something W109. |

If 300 SEL, I don't think it has deeper grille of 6.3 which had a 4th bar at the bottom - /vehicle.php?id=858195. 3.5 may have had 4th bar as well - /vehicle_958690-Mercedes-Benz-300-SEL-35-W109-1970.html . So my hunch is original 3.0 or the Oct 67 downgrade to 2.8. |
