With this little visible it's rather difficult to decide what model this is as they (as far as I know) were standard fittings on the six cylinder (and the later V8 models) models from 1960 (that is /59) in the U.S. That is: [W 111]: 220b, 220 Sb, 220 SEb, 220 SE/C, 220 SE Convertible, 230 S, 230 S Universal, 250 SE/C, 250 SE Convertible, 280 SE/C, 280 SE 3.5 Coupé, 280 SE 3.5 Convertible. [W 112]: 300 SE, 300 SE Lang, 300 SE/C, 300 SE Convertible. [W 108]: 250 S, 250 SE, 300 SE, 280 S, 280 SE, 280 SEL, 280 SE 3.5, 280 SE Lang 3.5, 280 SE 4.5, 280 SE Lang 4.5 (the latter two very unlikely as just introduced). [W 109]: 300 SEL, 300 SEL 3.5, 300 SEL 4.5 (very unlikely), 300 SEL 6.3. The [W 100], [W 113], [W 198], [W 114] and [W 115] had different head lights. If I recall this right, there were at least two different suppliers for these, namely Bosch and Hella. Does anyone know if they were both available all the time? Or are there more manufacturers to take into concideration? -- Last edit: 2016-01-31 17:45:30 |

yes, could have been W111/112 as well, as nothing more was visible, camera panning to the Imperial standing next glas pattern looks like Hella http://w109300sel.jimdo.com/mercedes-300sel-w109/instandsetzung/elektrik/ Bosch Link to "image.jimcdn.com" -- Last edit: 2016-01-31 23:25:19 |

@andrepa: Thank you for the link to the 300 SEL 3.5. It could be useful. |

This is stock footage from the previous episode which featured a 280 SE Convertible and there was a shot of it driving straight up to the camera, ending in the shot we see here. |
