I would call this a "Ferrari 308 GT4" but I guess imcdb lists them all as Dinos irrespective of 1976 cut-off. 1976+ due to first US year (if it's really IMSA..)

Definitely the same car but still pretty obscure. The above is the single source I could find, nothing on major Ferrari sites/forums. Maybe a project that never raced, or one man's weekend hobby?

No idea, but some musings. First it could be a 1976 car, but not converted into a racer until later. Second, from the IMSA wiki page "In 1984, Fédération Internationale du Sport Automobile (FISA), the organisers of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), attempted to unite the two organisations by .. adopting IMSA rules. This upset Porsche, which was spending vast sums of money on engine development at the time and responded by boycotting the 24 Hours of Le Mans of that year. FISA responded by abandoning the rule change for the time being.".

So maybe a European conversion in mid-80s for WEC under the short-lived IMSA format?? Or whichever national European series followed in WEC footsteps - for instance German Interserie??

Which could mean the IMSA description is correct without the car ever having left Europe ...
