This scene was a reenactment of the introduction of Constable Raymond "The Blizzard" Blissett who was one of the first incorruptible police officers within the NSW Police.

In an interview that he gave for the Australian Bicentennial in 1988, Ray Blissett was born in Bollaroo, near Lake Macquire, NSW on the 11th January 1908, as a young child, Blissett and his family moved around a lot, before settling in Newcastle in 1912.

When Blissett was still a young boy, his two older brothers had enlisted to fight in the First World War in which they were both killed.

At the age of 14, Blissett started working as a bullock driver, before joining the NSW Police as a cadet on the 13th March 1928, stationed at Glebe throughout the 1930s into the Second World War.

During the Second World War, Blissett was promoted to the rank of Detective Constable and in 1952, Blissett was promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant Third Class and was placed in charge of the NSW Police Consorting Squad.

In 1955, Blissett was awarded the NSW Police Peter Mitchell Award for receiving the highest marks in his detective sergeants' exams, resulting in him being promoted to the rank of Inspector.

From 1957 to 1960, he served as Inspector at Paddington, NSW, before being promoted to the rank of Superintendent and being placed in charge of the NSW Police Northern Division.

In February 1967, Blissett returned to Sydney and was made acting chief of the NSW Police CIB until his retirement on the 10th January 1968.
