1941-47 'Art Deco' truck. For the main pic, only a view of the bumper shape could help to tell a 1946-47 model over a 1941-42 one. The one in the thumb seems to have the concerned bumper, making it either a ½-ton, a ½-ton Special (2-ton model with downsized payload capacity) or a 2-ton truck. |

More likely 1946-47 due to the fact that Norway was occupied between 1940 and 1945. |

It could also be a 1941-42 model abandoned by the US troops when they went back home... -- Last edit: 2015-12-31 06:22:03 |

US troops didn't use the Art Deco trucks overseas, they used the army-specific GMC CCKW instead, of which many saw service in the Norwegian army post-war having been used by US troops in Europe. Canadian Chevy Art Deco trucks were used during the war, but AFAIK never beyond the role as LRDGs favoured truck (and these were modified extensively). Most foreign troops in early post-war Norway were British (Soviets had also conquered the north of Norway), and the resistance had mostly British and some Swedish equipment. |
