Is it just me or is there something funny about this cars look? Somehow it looks like a replica or a movie prop vehicle. I'm not sure. |

Brush Traction made 6 electric cars - and this was one of them https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brush_Traction |

"Motor vehicles were not ignored by Brush and the manufacture of motor cars and lorries was added to the already vast range of products. The "Brushmobile" was developed 1901-05 and two models, a 2-cylinder 10hp and a 4-cylinder 16hp with Vauxhall engines, were planned, but only six were actually built." http://www.brushtraction.com/history.asp?nid=163&pid=33 The Wikipedia entry for the 'Brushmobile electric car' looks to be rather misleading by including 'electric'. The Brushmobile car was built under licence from Vauxhall, by the Brush Electrical Engineering Company with a single cylinder petrol engine. Like the other two vehicles owned at the time by the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, UK. -- Last edit: 2015-12-09 21:51:49 |

From information in the Surrey Vistage Vehicle Society help pages dating from 2011 it appears it left the UK at some time so possibly the number transferred after being sold by the National Motor Museum. "Believed once owned by Vic Hutfield and then in the National Motor Museum, Beaulieau. Featured in 1966 film "Carry on Screaming" and later in Sapang Malaya Motor Museum. Possibly back in UK." http://www.malaysia-traveller.com/sepang-international-circuit.html ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-12-10 11:26:27 |

According to IMDB.com the reg number HS 25 was made up for the film as a pun on Harold Steptoe (also played by Harry H Corbett who appeared in the film driving the car). IMDB Trivia - Carry on Screaming |
