1949+ 170 S or 1952 Sb indeed. Main difference was the gear lever who moved from the floor to the steering column. |

No, not Korbach .gif ";)") As I wrote in annother commend, "KB" stand for "Kommandatura Berlin" and was issued in West-Berlin between 1947 and 1956: http://plates.lachs.net/col/de/historic/ The new German plate-system, as we have it still today, was introduced at the 1.7.1956. "KB" for Korbach came even much later, in 1974, when a new country was created from FKB (Frankenberg) and WA (Waldeck) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gebietsreform_in_Hessen In this movie you see a few plates with "GB" This means "Groß-Berlin" and was issued in the Soviet Sector (East-Berlin) between 1948 and 1953. -- Last edit: 2015-12-03 22:49:52 |

About differences between 170 S and Sb, the larger rear window of 170 Sb came in 1952 with the above mentioned column gearshift lever and built in trunk winges. The hubcaps of 170 S and Sb are the same. Only model 170 SD, a 170 Sb simplified with 16" wheels and bumpers from 170 D has those smaller hubcaps, common to 170 D line. |
