I would say Impala... |

Based on what? From this view there's no telling whether its one or the other. |

Based on that it is a taxi, and if it is a real taxi they would use Impalas and not Caprices...Also the dog dish wheel covers would seem more appropriate on an Impala... |

That's faulty reasoning. From 1980-1985, Impalas were offered as base models with police and taxi packages. In 1986, the Impala was essentially re-branded into the Caprice and therefore received the dog dish wheel covers. |

Perhaps it is so, but as you said without further markings it could be either...I am sticking with Impala...What is needed is to determine the year and why do you think it is a Caprice?? |

Well that's exactly my point, it could be either. I don't think it's a Caprice over an Impala or vice-versa. It's pretty much a 50/50 chance of being either. This graphic is from the starting credits and it's the only shot, which tells me that we will never be able to tell what model it is exactly. Fellow admins, I suggest that perhaps this page be deleted and the car be moved to the main page for the show since the model will remain unknown and it doesn't have a real role. |
