I was unaware of the settings for specials like this, I cannot remember what series it is now that I uploaded, but a Land Rover featured in it was a Spanish built one called a Santana. |

From what I understood from this page and this one, the December 1971 to April 1973 'Export' version, also nicknamed Export 'Californian' (not to be confused with the 1978+ trim available on YDO18 models), has the YDO30 model code. As 1971-72 model, it was apparently sold as BMC Moke, while the 1973 version followed the make change as Leyland Moke. The 2 links above say April 1968 for the 13" wheels: the ADO8 to ADO18 change was apparently only due to the use of a bigger engine (1098cc instead of 998cc) and of a full-synchro gearbox. So, as the Moke of this page doesn't seem to have the side markers of the 'Export' model, it must be a "standard" 1968+ ADO8 / 1969+ ADO18? -- Last edit: 2016-02-06 00:43:17 |

See comments at /vehicle_884458-Leyland-Mini-Moke-YDO18-1973.html . Exports started with 1971-72 Morris YDO18 1098cc according to that book, then with Leyland change in 72 got the big sidelights as here but kept 1098cc/YDO18 until 1974. This happened alongside the new Californian 1275cc/YDO30, not instead of. So this one should now be safe as 72 Leyland "Export" YDO18. |

The pictured Moke was built between October 1976 and November 1979 using the front grille and front bumper bar mounts as references. The side mirrors have been removed for some reason. If the Moke was built prior to 1978 then the YDO18 is correct. The word Export should not be in the title as though this model Moke was exported over the years the reference to Export is commonly used to refer to a particular model of Moke built between 1971 and April 1973 which was the only Moke designated by the YDO30 drawing code. That particular Moke was first Marketed to the US Virgin islands as the Californian Moke but the deal fell through and the thousand or so Mokes built were sold locally 13" Wheels were fitted to Australian built Mokes from April 1968 onwards. Mokes were built to easily convert to LHD and so were sold to over 60 different countries during their Australian production |
