Its definitely not an American one. I almost thought it was some other truck that they fabricated a Ford front and back end onto.

The headlights seem to be replacements.

But the bed does not match to our 1987-91 Ford F-Series :??:

The US version also didn't come with a crew cab body on a short wheelbase (which also means it probably is not a F-350). Filmed in Ghana, so not sure where they would source one. I was thinking Australia, but it doesn't look RHD. Looks like South Africa did not make this model at the time. I can only find models through the 1970s and newer ones from the 2000s on South African auto websites.

I did find this generation in Brazil, but the front end matches the US version and the crew cab is different.

It's a Brazilian Chevrolet (D-20?) with a 1987-1991 Ford F-Series grille. The Brazilian Chevrolets of the era took heavy design cues from Ford, so I'm not surprised the grille fits.

Seems to match:

Série 20, in fact, as there were also ethanol (A-20) and gasoline (C-20) powered versions, not only Diesel ones:

Made from 1985 to 1997 (pt). This kind of cab was called Cabine dupla in Brazilian: Double Cab would be the accurate translation unless there was a specific name in Ghana, where the movie was shot.

Now let's try to understand how a Brazilian truck arrived in Africa...

By a cargo ship? :p

Apparently 99% of used cars market in Africa is made of vehicles imported from elsewhere: Japan and UK for RHD markets; Europe, Middle East and Americas for LHD markets, so what's wrong with a pickup coming from Brazil? :D

As far as I know, Ghana has no particular relationship with Brazil except the fact that both countries had Portuguese colonists at a particular moment in their history. But this ended in mid-17th for the Ghana, and in the early 19th century for Brazil...
And in all documents I read so far, I found no mention of any export of the Brazilian Série 20 to elsewhere than to few countries of South or Central America.

I don't mean these exports didn't exist, just that I wonder about them: in the context of the global economy, there is usually logical (historical, political, mix of both) reasons when countries engage in trade, and I'm curious about what led to the relationship here ;)

Probably second-handed export
