The C-pillar grille and the rear wing badge identify a 1965 model year GT. |

The car in the picture carries the double chrome side-trim used on the Cortina 'Super' model but not used on the 'GT' in the UK. I have read that in some markets (the US) the 'GT' had the chrome trim also but was that the case in France? ![]() |

I can tell you that in Portugal this double chrome side-trim was standard on the GT (just for the record, the GT was sold here only in the 2-door version and it was very popular). |

Seems in France too, we had the double chrome side-trim on the Consul Cortina Super , and not on the GT ... but to be confirmed ![]() By the way, the designation should be Ford Consul Cortina Super 1965+ |

For the 1965 model year some changes were made and the name Consul was dropped, as it can be confirmed here: http://www.pixelmatic.com.au/cortina/cortina.html . -- Last edit: 2007-02-09 01:29:54 |

Nice and interesting site, though I didn't read all of it, and I didn't find the information on the drop of this Consul name... By the way, in my documentations I found this: 1) Consul name was droped in 1965/66 for the 1966 model year. 2) The Cortina Super was not imported in France 3) This double chrome side-trims was feated on Cortina GT in september 65 for the last model year 1966. Then, as the film is in France, we could assume it is a Ford Cortina GT 1966... then you were right rpcm ![]() |
