1979. I find it strange because I thought the NYPD used Chrysler products through the 1980's |

it's probably some film studio lot with caprices painted up to look like NYC cars. the one scene with all the cars driving by looked completely fake. |

There is that F41/9C1 rear antiroll bar on the yellow taxi... |

you must love those antiroll bars. (Not that it's bad. ) But how do you know so much about that? |

Snookie, I spent many years driving a '79 Caprice with many upgrades underneath, like brakes, suspension, tranny, gears, engines, etc... sort of a real life General Lee w/o the jumping. This car looked like a navy blue Caprice and ate 911's & Corvettes for fun. A properly equipped Caprice leaving a Vette from a stop light and running upwards of 150mph and stable while doing it was fun in its own way. Authorities have lost their sense of humor for such things these day so I spend that time in a Series III Rover trying to get over 60mph. Anyway Devil is in the details, like that bar. It meant wider wheels, better shocks, faster ratio steering, larger front bar, and bigger brakes on cop car. Always a good find in the junk yard... Jim |

That is so cool how you know so much. I never knew anything about the antiroll bars, or the engines. I salute you. |
