I think pre-facelifted ones were badged Credos and post-facelift Clarus / or only the wagon or something like that. Norway is also the only country in Europe (that I know of) where the first generation Elantra was called Elantra and not Lantra.

So for now just Norway (1996-1998) and Spain use Credos outside KDM (with exception of Taiwan which uses Clarus (going off someone’s comment on here. i did not verify)).
