Maybe best to name as 'Custom Made Rolls Royce Hearse on Bedford'? -- Last edit: 2015-08-18 17:35:50 |

Presumably based on a CA chassis? |

It appears to have a one piece front axle with built in hydraulic jacks. The CAs all had i.f.s, and I think this thing looks too big for a CA. I wondered if it was M-type small truck chassis, perhaps lengthened a bit, or if the J had started by then. Of course it could be an old Royce chassis with the Bedford 27hp engine dropped in, but I think the radiator would not have been mounted so far forward in that case. |

Only possible chassis I think from the 1955 date would be a Bedford A2 25cwt van or ambulance chassis 119" wheelbase? But as said previously it could be registered as a 'Bedford' based only on the engine used. |
