Isn't that a Renault diamond in the grill? At least it's similar to a TN4 bus http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Renault_TN4F_136_NOU.JPG or a YG 15 CV Link to "staticclub.caradisiac.com" or perhaps a 70 CV Link to "www.autogallery.org.ru" . All from the early 30's. |

I don't know how to separate buses built on HGV chassis from buses built on bus chassis, as I belive the coach builders built on the chassis given or available at the time. It seems there were plenty of models to choose from http://www.renaultoloog.nl/bussen-english.htm (bus) and http://www.renaultoloog.nl/trucks-english.htm (HGV). |

Bus chassis are generally lower than HGV chassis, and will have a dropped section behind the rear axle giving a lower step height if rear entrance, or permitting a luggage boot if a centre entrance or front entrance coach. Try looking at African or Asian countries' buses using perhaps the Bedford J or Austin Loadstar chassis to see the difference. It gets more difficult with the more modern American School bus type vehicles built on converted truck chassis, and much easier on modern rear engined models, which were purpose designed. |
