Never knew that Grand Marquis were Taxis |

Not officially packaged by FoMoCo. Taxi vehicles are normally owned by the individuals and then put into service by the taxi company. At least that is how it was here in PA. Essentially any car could be a taxi but NYC now restricts them to hybrids and some cities require the taxi to ge decommissioned after 'X' amount of years. Crown Vics are considerbly cheaper and were sold to fleets which resulted in [P70/72] models. Upscale taxi markets however have Grand Marquis taxi vehicles outfitted for service. I rode in a 1995-1997 about 6 years ago in Atlantic City NJ. |
