1947 or 1948 Buick Roadmaster model 76-C or Super model 56-C Convertible Sedan. I can't see the name script on the front fender which would rule out the 1948. |

A convertible sedan means FOUR DOORS...The vehicle above only has two..Also FYI..The Four-Door: Buick advertised a Series 60 "Convertible Phaeton" body style in the 1934 Model Year, which was actually a four-Door convertible, [8] 1938-39 Roadmaster, and 1940-41 Super.The last year for a 4-DOOR Buick convertible was 1941....All the other sources I consulted say the same thing...Your information source is incorrect Link to "www.classiccardatabase.com" Link to "www.classiccardatabase.com" ***NOTE that it is called a COUPE.... -- Last edit: 2015-06-04 03:26:50 |

Ah… I would love to give you an idiomatic equivalent but I'm not fluent and cultured enough in Engish to do it. Mmmh… Let me look for a translation/adaptation… Ah, found this: we can't be more catholic than the pope. Here, what we put in the 'info' box is not our appreciation but some supplement, generally given by the makers themselves. So, the convertible sedan for a 2-dr didn't shock me more than some cabriolet décapotable I read elsewhere. |

According to Classic Car database that I posted above the wheelbase for the Super was 124 inches..the Roadmaster 129... so |

Is there an expert on postwar Buicks on this site??? If not I suppose just list as a 1947 Buick convertible... Convertible sedan, to me, means 4-doors...And yes in the literature that atom provided it is called a convertible sedan, but it shows a pic of a 2-door car...Perhaps the nomenclature used in the period advertising is, in a sense, alluding to the safety a sedan would provide...idk...of the link you provided of 1947 Buick convertibles, 8 of the 32 id the vehicle as a convertible sedan.... -- Last edit: 2015-05-21 04:15:11 |
