The important car on this pic is the prowler, background, but we are looking for the ID of the coupé. |

Distinguishing marks: Headlights partially integrated into fenders, side trim extending just past C-pillar, fuel filler on right, conventionally opening doors, exposed chromed trunk hinges Altogether, looks like a 1940 Chevrolet. Some coupes have the fuel filler behind the passenger door, some on the rear fender. Maybe a mid-year change?: http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2151/5783893764_ecd7574874_z.jpg Link to "www.history-of-cars.com" Link to "images.classiccars.com" Second choice, the closely related 1940 Pontiac: https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8003/7647164586_2a3d81d4f2_z.jpg Link to "www.jalopyjournal.com" I may make the Pontiac my first choice based on the protruding taillights. 1940 Pontiac models: Special Six, De Luxe Six, De Luxe Eight, Torpedo Eight - I'd guess this is a Six, but that's only a guess -- Last edit: 2015-05-13 21:35:20 |
