The centrepiece of the film - Ian Appleyard - described by commentary as an Olympic skier, but about to become a famous rally driver in Jag XK 120 "NUB 120" and a director in the big Leeds-based Appleyard Group - drives from Abingdon to Val d'Isere on some stupid pretext to set a record for the trip (seems a strangely trivial A-B trip to claim a record - has anyone ever done it before or since??) and then has some snowy frolics with an English ski team who happened to be there. What larks!

Story of the trip here - Link to "www.mg-cars.net" ; the camera car was green TD FMO 265 (and might be visible in a couple of bits of footage, so must have switched cameras to 266), which still survives in NZ; FMO 266 seems to have disappeared immediately afterwards with rumours that various high jinx damaged both cars badly enough that they were both rebuilt into 265.
