the Comet was initially released without any divisional badging, only "Comet" badges. It was sold through Mercury dealers, but would not be branded as such for two more years. So from 1960-2 it was branded a Comet only..,, From 1963 on MERCURY Comet... |

OOps my bad...Math is not my strong suit....The point I was trying to make is that it is a Comet, NOT a Mercury Comet (at least until 1964...:) |

He meant the other way. Only the 1960 and 1961 models were stand-alone marques.
