Not sure when in 1949 the 340 came out, but based on these dates, probably January-February 1949. Origin should be Germany. The roadster 340/1 was introduced at the 1949 Leipzig Spring Fair, and already by late 1948 development was finished. Not sure when in 1949 the 340 came out, but based on these dates, probably January-February 1949.

EDIT: 2 Prototypes in April 1948, presented in Brussels February 1949, serial production began in October.
