IIRC the scene where the ship crashes into the harbour in St-Martin was actually filmed in St-Martin, so this is more likely to be a Suzuki Vitara. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0120179/locations Edited to add: It has a Vitara badge on the door. Actually it has a "Tracker" badge on the front door (which only came on 89-90) also has Geo Tracker LSi Chrome wheels along with Tracker LSi-specific black trim on the door window frame and b-pillar. It also has North american (tracker, Sunrunner and Sidekick) front Sidemarker Lights. and GEO-specific lower door moulding (black with red stripe and it is located below the body line, the Suzuki version has moulding on the actual body line) it is identical to this vehicle www.imcdb.org/vehicle_42815-Geo-Tracker-1990.html except the one in this movie has an aftermarket roof -- Last edit: 2007-01-14 02:37:38 |

Well after going out and renting this movie I found out I was wrong. Based on the Door Emblem in conjunction with the Grille that it has on it this is a Canadian-spec 1990 GMC (not Geo) Tracker SLE yes GMC, rare vehicle to see in the movies. ![]() ![]() The "Tracker" emblems on the doors were only used on 89-90 Geo Trackers in the US and 89-91 GMC and CHevrolet Trackers in Canada, The grille on this truck was only used on Geo Trackers from 93-95 (and it wasn't black it was body colored) but it was used on 89-95 GMC Trackers, Asuna Sunrunners and Pontiac Sunrunners in Canada and only painted black in 89 and 90. Using these two obsevations I have to say even though I cant see the grille emblem that this is a 1990 GMC Tracker SLE (SLE is the GMC equivalent to LSi in Geo's) BTW all 89-90 Geo and Chevy Trackers use this grille www.imcdb.org/vehicle_42815-Geo-Tracker-1990.html |

here is another GMC tracker for refferance notice the center of the grille is black (unavail on the Geo) and this style grille was only available on the Geo from 93-95 (all body collored) and by that time Geo had stoped using door emblems in favoer of "tracker" decals on the rear quarter panel Link to "memimage.cardomain.net" -- Last edit: 2007-01-22 15:30:32 |

i did a search and found a few more GMC Trackers....so I'm going to change the name for now. if someone else watches this movie and can prove it is a Geo and not a GMC, just post and the evidence. i knew that was a Tracker badge on the door, i came close to having one of these in high school. ![]() btw..Tonka, you're in NC too! Very cool!!! -- Last edit: 2007-01-22 17:24:54 |

here is a diagram that should help with the different grilles![]() This is also a 1991 and only 1991 as 89-90 GMC Trackers had Silver surrounding the grille -- Last edit: 2009-10-29 11:25:49 |

Man I hated this movie because they destroyed the poor Suzuki/Geo/GMC The great thing is that they are still doing it in Colombia |

Just watched this movie yesterday... it's likely it got destroyed, but they never did show it. Showing a parked car in the path of a speeding cruiseship for so long, and not showing it get smashed? Really, now... ![]() |
