Standing (and not round) front lights and a rather high body means it's a W 111 (and neither a W 110 nor a W 108/W 109). (Also not enough chrome for a W 112). If the man in the first thumb is driving on a reasonably straight road, I presume the steering wheel is in an upright position. If the assumption is correct it's possible to see that the horn ring on the steering wheel is round and thus made before 1965, compare with a flat top if it would have been made after 1965 http://www.heckflosse.nl/wheel4.htm . According to http://www.heckflosse.nl/220sse.htm also the rear view mirror in this forward position suggests an earlier model (possibly before 1963). Finally, not much chrome on the hood/bonnet besides the radiator grille, suggests a 220 b http://wiki.mercedes-benz-classic.com/index.php/Datei:220b.jpg , as 220 Sb and 220 SEb had two strips. I believe this is a 1959-62 Mercedes-Benz 220 b [W 111.010]. |
