Seen throughout ep3.07 V993 GVR = RED 2000 FORD ESCORT FLIGHT 5 DOOR HATCHBACK, ✗ Untaxed Tax due: 23 July 2012 ✗ No MOT Expired: 23 November 2012 Date of first registration :31 January 2000 Year of manufacture :2000 Cylinder capacity (cc) :1597cc Fuel type :PETROL Export marker : No Vehicle status : Not taxed Vehicle colour :RED One of the very last Escorts - production stopped July 2000. Flight was at first a 1997 limited edition on LX, then Jan 99 replaced CL and LX as run-out high spec edition (with Finesse replacing Ghia). "Production issues dictated that Escort had to continue in the showrooms for almost a year after the Focus was launched at the end of 1999. By then, interest in the car was already waning, so to shore up sales, Ford had earlier in the year introduced highly specified Flight and Finesse versions of the most popular 1.6-litre petrol and 1.8-litre turbo diesel derivatives. It's no exaggeration to say that these were by far the best mainstream Escorts ever built." - http://www.rac.co.uk/buying-a-car/car-reviews/ford/escort/207443 |

Note the badge on the rear door: Fitted to some (but not all, strangely) of these run-out Escorts. |

Maybe only Scouse-builds got the badge, with others built in B or D and imported?? |

We got the Classic special edition (or was it a trim?) as a run-out Escort. |
