It looks like to have a big rear door, with enough lenght to accomodate a quarter light. It couldn't be a 220, because in 1954, 220 plate was spotted centrally and I guess the trunk script is also a bit longer to be only 220. It seems to be a 220S, but some year before 1959, when the script was moved back to central place. Then I would suggest a 220 S, 1956-1958. If someone is sure about when the 220 S script was moved to that left place, please be invited. -- Last edit: 2014-11-27 19:50:11 |

Sure it is a W180. I read some books now and I am convinced that the place 220 S script depended on the size of matricule plate. If this was narrow as the German ones, the script went below the star. If the plate was like Brazilian or Italian, the script went at side. There are lots of photos with different versions, but all the factory photos had narrow plates and side scripts. |
