In the street scene immediately preceding the morning press conference, there are clear images of an A55 Mk I and a Derby Bentley among other vehicles. Reginald Marsh featured in 'Shadow of Fear' the following year, also filmed on the South Coast. Both films serve as interesting fictional history to Old Carthusian prolific crime writer and producer Peter James' novels, set in Brighton. Doubtless a very able screenwriter, Mr James doesn't seem to be bringing his Inspector Roy Grace to either the big or small screen. When reading the books I try to imagine who might play 'Grace'; usually some fast driving and a variety of vehicles in the stories.
