atom ◊ 2014-11-08 21:08	760 was released 1982 while 740 was released 1984. According to what I heard 704 stands for 700-series 4-doors. At the time 740 wasn't planed and the new 760 got the 704 VIN. When the 740 was released the VIN was changed to 740/760. Note: "According to what I heard".
