Is it really an AAR?

Probably not. I'm pretty sure the AAR 'Cuda was 1970 only.

3 stars. First used by Letty in the Race Wars against the Audi R8 and later in LA getting chased by Jakande's helicopter/ drone, whatever it was.

The car was only used in a short racing scene in the beginning of the movie and in the final action sequence at the end of the movie so I do not think that it should get 4 stars

Supposedly it is a 1970 and the same car from part 6. Think they just replaced tail lights with those from a '72?

And then there's this that has a plaque identifying it as a '71.

And this shows it as a '73. Annoying.

The car in 6 is a '70/71 body based on the flush-mounted side marker lights. The rear end isn't seen in 6 to see if it has a 70, 71 or 72-74 tail panel. It's *possible* that car is a true '70 AAR 'cuda.

The car in 7 has the 72-74 tail and shaved side markers... meaning the surface mounted side markers of 72-74 were removed and the holes filled.

While they are not the same car, they play the same car character, "Letty's 'cuda", just as Dom's '70 Charger has been played by several very different Chargers.

I saw this and the 70 Roadrunner at Universal Studios Florida. Wish I had some pictures of this and the Roadrunner.

Quote 1972 Plymouth Barracuda
Chassis no. BS23H2B188941
• Built by Dennis McCarthy / Vehicle Effects, Universal's official builder for the Fast & Furious franchise
• Registered to Vehicle Effects Inc.
• Used on-screen as Letty Ortiz's (Michelle Rodriguez) car in the Race Wars sequence
• Fitted with a Mopar V8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission
• Accompanied by its US title

Originally constructed in 1972 at Chrysler's New Stanton factory as a hardtop coupé powered by a 383 ci V8 engine, this Plymouth Barracuda was later acquired by Dennis McCarthy's Vehicle Effects team for use in Fast & Furious 7 (2015). Serving as the principal "hero" car driven by Michelle Rodriguez in her role as Letty Ortiz, the vehicle features prominently during the film's Race Wars and subsequent scenes.
Finished in a striking black-on-black configuration chosen by the production's design department, the car embodies the perfect blend of classic American muscle and the bold cinematic aesthetic that defines the Fast & Furious series. Built with a Chrysler V8 powertrain and completed to full filming specification, it stands as one of the most recognisable hero cars from the modern franchise era.
Following production, the Barracuda entered private ownership before being acquired by Movie Cars Central, where it has been carefully preserved in screen-used condition.
Offered with its US title in the name of Vehicle Effects Inc., an 846A customs document, a spare engine, and production data from the movie, this 'Cuda represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a genuine piece of Fast & Furious history. Some mechanical recommissioning will be required prior to road use.
