What badge is it? The grille is of the Leyland-DAF/DAF model (200). This raised roof had to be introduced around 1989 IMHO. Looks like the same car: /vehicle_557885-DAF-200.html |

It looks a lot like it says Freight-Rover in the last thumb... |

True it is broken, hence looks strange. Anyway, no idea how to explain this. When Leyland-DAF with this grille was introcued it still had low roof... EDIT! Ops or not: https://www.flickr.com/photos/77995520@N05/7369363592/ So the information that together with the rebranding the new grille has been introduced is false. This way I pressume that the rebranding to Leyland-DAF and DAF (export version) wasn't in the same. When in mainland Europe it was already DAF in UK it could be still Freight Rover for around one year. There are known promo pics of 1988 "DAF". -- Last edit: 2014-10-18 19:30:03 |

The more I look into it the less I understand. If the rebranding happened in 1989 the there is a 1988 van with Leyland DAF badging on it with a few appearances on the database... /vehicle_652352-Leyland-DAF-200-1989.html /vehicle_711411-Leyland-DAF-200-1989.html Rebadged and re-grilled to look newer? Fake plate? The E plate belongs to a 'Freight Rover Sherpa 200'. It's older than this old-styled grill Freight-Rover: /vehicle_186712-Freight-Rover-Sherpa-200-1989.html We also had some confusion lately over what name was used in South Africa. |

Now with new facts about the grilles/badging and with these production dates, the version about rebuilt car is more possible to me. |
